My running clubs

Cleveland West Road Runners Club:  My first area running club. The Cleveland West Road Runners Club (CWRRC), located in and around Cleveland, Ohio, is currently in its 29th year. I joined to volunteer at Mohican and have been a member ever since. The club has a great history of running at all levels. I've learned quite a bit from the ultrarunning veterans of the CWRRC.

CWRRC presents several quality races, such as the Bay Days 5 Mile, Spring and Fall Classic Half Marathons, and is the originating club of the Mohican Trail 100.

Northeast Ohio Trail Club:  A fun and rugged running club who likes to play dirty. This group was founded to present the September YUT-C 50k in Youngtown's Mill Creek Park, now in it's fourth year. "NEO Trail" also presents several low-key Fat Ass style run such as the URINEO 50 Mile in December and the Covered Bridge FA in March.

Southeast Running Club:  Another area running club that has been around for years. Though they do not operate any races, they are a talented and speedy bunch. Occassionally, I join their Sunday morning road run from the bagel shop in Solon.

AFFILIATION:

Second Sole Running Group (Rocky River, OH): My favorite running group. Founded and coached by Kara Kelly, I've run for several years and many marathon seasons with this westside group, traveling to various out-of-state marathons.

Vertical Runner (Hudson, OH):A running store and group with a trail running niche. Located near the plentiful trails of the Cuyahoga Valley, the store now operates several road and trail races, including the summer classic Buckeye Trail 50k. I'm becoming more involved with VR and it's trail races.

INVOLVEMENT:

Western Reserve Trail Running: Non-profit organization that formed to operate the Burning River 100 endurance run. The WRTR Race Series was started in 2008, which includes area favorites such as the Buckeye Trail 50k, Burning River 100, and the YUT-C 50k.
